Cookie Policy
Last updated: 8 July 2026
This policy explains how Datum Climate Ltd (Datum) uses cookies and similar technologies on datumclimate.co.uk, and how you stay in control. Read it alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Some are essential for the site to work; others help us understand how the site is used or show you relevant ads. Similar technologies (like a small amount of browser storage) do the same job.
Consent first — you decide
We do it the honest way: when you first visit, nothing non-essential runs until you choose “Accept.” If you decline, only strictly-necessary cookies are used and no analytics or advertising cookies are set. You can change your mind any time (clear the site's storage in your browser, or use the controls below) and you'll be asked again.
The cookies we use
| Category | When it runs | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Always on (no consent needed) | Remember your cookie choice (dc_consent), keep the site secure, and make core features work. The site can't function without these. |
| Analytics | Only with your consent | Google Analytics 4 — anonymised stats on how the site is used (which pages help, where people get stuck) so we can improve it. Never used to identify you personally. |
| Advertising / retargeting | Only with your consent | Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel and Google Ads — let us measure which ads bring genuine enquiries and show our ads to people who've visited, so we're not paying to interrupt strangers. |
| Our own (first-party) | Only with your consent | A random, anonymous ID (dc_cid) that lets us understand journeys on our own site (e.g. someone who used the price calculator) without knowing who you are. It is not sold or shared. |
The third parties named above
When you consent, these providers may set cookies. Each has its own privacy information:
- Google (Analytics & Ads) — policies.google.com/privacy
- Meta (Facebook / Instagram Pixel) — facebook.com/privacy/policy
Managing cookies
Use the consent choice shown on your first visit. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge all let you do this) — though blocking strictly-necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.
